DIY: The Perfect Pamper Night

Monday 15 June 2015

A weekend with no plans is the perfect time to relax and catch up on some much needed me-time and there's no better way to do that than with a pamper day with homemade DIY treatments!

I rarely have time to indulge in face or hair masks so there's always plenty of homemade treatments to get stuck into when I fancy treating myself. Here are my favourites:

Moisturising Face Mask
I have quite dry skin so I need a face mask that's nourishing and moisturing. My avocado and honey mask does just the trick.

What you'll need:
1/2 really ripe, soft Avocado
85g honey

Method:
Mash the avocado and honey in a bowl and then apply to your face. Leave for 10 minutes and then rinse off with a warm washcloth.

Go Bananas Hair Mask

Bananas are good in more ways than one; they 're rich in potassium, anti-oxidants and natural oils - so why not slather them on your hair?! The moisture boost will strengthen your hair to prevent breakage and split ends and make your hair healthy and bouncy!

What you'll need

2 overripe soft bananas
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey

Method

Blend the bananas until there are absolutely no chunks or bits, it needs to be super smooth!
Add the honey, coconut and olive oil to the mixture and keep on blending.
Slather the scrummy smelling concoction into your hair, and let it sink into your scalp for at least ten minutes.
Thoroughly rinse the mask out with warm water and take your time to comb through your hair afterwards. (This is why you want to blend the mixture really smooth!)
Do a final rinse to make sure you've got all of the mask out and the best thing? There's no need to shampoo cos banana's smell so good!
